CALA currently has members from seven different lakes in the area; Benson, Clear, Indian, Opinicon, Sand, Newboro and most recently Whitefish Lake.
We are a very small non-profit organization with an eight member executive and a membership core that has ranged between 100 – 135 individuals in the last few years.
As a small group, our primary purpose at this time is to heighten awareness of the need to enhance and protect vital components of the environment of the Chaffey’s Area. So many people come to visit and live in this area because of their love and enjoyment of nature, the wildlife, the quiet peace of the lakes and the strength of the community. However as life progresses, there is a need to ensure that we protect the environment and all that it has to offer to ensure that future generations will also be able swim in clean water, listen to the call of the loons, fish, canoe and kayak, and spend cherished time with family and friends.
