Lead sinkers that are lost in the lake or ingested by fish results in lead poisoning that kills as many as one out of five loons and is responsible for killing millions of birds worldwide. In the spring of 2022, CALA partnered with the Wolfe Lake Association by providing financial support to assist them with their endeavors to promote, educate and provide incentives to reduce/eliminate the use of lead sinkers.
